Most business men know that referral business is vitally important. But how do you ensure you are in a position to ask for or even get offered referral business. The answer is simple;

Wow your clients
The key is to go out of your way to demonstrate a high level of service to EVERYONE who comes in contact with your business. That is not just clients but suppliers, the postman, anybody who may at some stage talk about your business.

This is because all these people are potential customers or a referral source. How do you do this? Well basically be honest, knowledgeable, friendly, professional, and deliver on your promises. And if something goes wrong apologise and sort it out straight away and make sure the client doesn’t suffer any more than they have to.

These are the basics needed to be perceived as a good company but go that extra mile and exceed their expectations. If you think a task will be completed on Wednesday, tell your client it will completed on Friday. Then on Wednesday when you contact them they will think you have gone out of your way to help THEM. Always deliver ahead of schedule not behind.

You can carry out what is known as proactive communication; that is discover why your clients call and head them off,  answer all questions ahead of time.

Even give your customers some kind of bonus, give them more than what they expected. It could be anything from something related to your product or it could be in the form of an idea or a tip.

If you deliver above and beyond to your customers they will keep coming back for more, and what’s more they will bring their friends and family too.
